Benny The Butcher Provides Dark Holiday Music on “EL CARNICERO”

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Two grimy, Griselda-approved tracks for anyone tired of Christmas cheer.

Once you hit adulthood, Christmas Day doesn’t quite hit the same. Sure, respect to the reason for the season, but the Santa Claus fantasy loses its magic fast. Thankfully, Benny The Butcher showed up right on time with something for those of us who prefer our holidays dark, gritty, and far from festive.

As part of a two-pack release titled EL CARNICERO, Benny drops “IIGHT IIGHT” and “SUPERNATURAL” featuring Estee Nack. On “IIGHT IIGHT,” Benny is in pure menace mode, delivering disgustingly sharp bars about life in the fast lane. Particularly, he raps about luxury cars, navigating gangster politics, and his journey from roach-infested homes to spotless marble floors, all while sounding like he’s perpetually one bad look away from violence.

“SUPERNATURAL” keeps the darkness intact, pairing Benny with Estee Nack over a Griselda-stamped instrumental that’s equal parts elegant and grimy. The two trade verses about boss moves, dodging the feds, and eliminating enemies with cold efficiency. It may not be flashy, but it’s perfectly on brand, giving fans exactly what Benny does best.

Have a very Griseldy Christmas, guys!
