Drake Becomes Spotify’s First Artist to Surpass 125 Billion Streams

Even in a so-called down year, Drake’s catalog dominance remains untouchable.

Drake has officially become the first artist in Spotify history to surpass 125 billion total streams, more than doubling the numbers of the next-closest rapper. When you really step back and look at the records he continues to break, it’s honestly absurd, especially considering this wasn’t even a major release year for him.

Despite not dropping a full-fledged solo album, Drake’s older projects continue to perform at an elite level. Take Care remains a streaming powerhouse, while his joint album with PARTYNEXTDOOR, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, emerged as one of the highest-selling hip-hop albums of the year. That kind of success without a major rollout speaks volumes.

Drake’s catalog depth is a huge reason why this milestone feels inevitable. Albums like Views, Certified Lover Boy, and For All The Dogs continue to rack up streams across generations of listeners, keeping him permanently in rotation.

That said, Drake releases an incredible amount of music. If Kendrick Lamar dropped albums more frequently, the race at the very top might be tighter. Still, numbers don’t lie, and this milestone confirms Drake’s dominance is on another level entirely.
