Gunna Recruits Chris Brown for a Polished “wgft” Remix

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Chris Brown returns the favor years later, adding polish and passion to Gunna’s viral hit.

Chris Brown’s catalog is stacked with hits, and saying that almost feels like an understatement. One of his best collaborations came with Gunna on “Heat,” a track that thrived on their natural chemistry and club-ready energy. Now, roughly seven years later, Chris returns the favor by hopping on Gunna’s massive “wgft” remix.

In true Chris Brown fashion, he brings sly, passionate vocals that add a smoother, more sensual layer to the record, along with well-placed ad-libs that elevate the vibe. Lyrically, he leans into familiar territory, rapping about getting involved with a woman and her friends while surrounding them with outrageous luxury.

While the original version of “wgft” still holds the edge for me, Chris Brown does enough here to make the remix feel like its own standalone moment rather than just an add-on.

Shoutout to Chris Brown for wanting to hop on a song called “wgft.”
