Joji Drops New Track “Last Of A Dying Breed”

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.
Joji

Joji has returned with a new single, “Last Of A Dying Breed,” and it’s a track that quietly sneaks up on you.

“Last of a Dying Breed” opens with a slow, aged, almost pixelated-sounding organ that immediately sets a somber, reflective tone. Once the beat drops, however, the energy shifts—the tempo picks up and the track transforms into something lighter and more uplifting without losing its emotional weight.

Joji slides in with his signature sound: soft, fragile vocals that feel intimate and slightly distant at the same time. His falsetto and subtle harmonic runs are effortlessly catchy, adding texture and warmth to the production. Lyrically, the song is poetic and vulnerable, built around aching questions like, “Do you need me? Do you feel me?”—simple lines that hit harder the more you sit with them.

The track is short and sweet, relying on one concise verse and a repeating chorus, but it leaves a lasting impression. “Last Of A Dying Breed” isn’t about doing too much; it’s about feeling everything.
