I expect a way looser Thugger on this project.
Young Thug has announced that he plans to release a new album titled DBC, which stands for Dragon Ball Coachella Day Before Coachella. With performances scheduled at Coachella on April 12 and April 19, the rollout timing suggests he wants to make a major statement during festival season.
After being released from jail on Halloween 2023, Thug returned with his comeback album UY SCUTI less than two years later. The project arrived amid controversy involving snitching allegations and leaked phone calls. Still, it featured major artists such as Future, Lil Baby, 21 Savage, Travis Scott, Cardi B, and Ken Carson. Tracks like “Money On Money,” “Pipe Down,” and “Ninja” helped the album debut with 52k units.
With DBC, I would prefer a more focused, steady Young Thug. UY SCUTI felt ambitious but slightly scattered, as if too many ideas were competing for attention. Now that the initial comeback wave has passed, this upcoming release feels like an opportunity for a more settled and refined version of Thugger.
