These five artists feel like natural collaborators for Drake’s upcoming album ‘ICEMAN’.
Drake’s reputation in the hip-hop world has taken a few hits recently, but the idea that he’s suddenly isolated in the industry feels exaggerated.
Not long ago, he was in the middle of what he called a “20 vs. 1,” trading shots with several major figures, including Kendrick Lamar, Future, Rick Ross, A$AP Rocky, and others. For a moment, it felt like half the rap universe had something to say about the Toronto superstar.
Still, the music industry is massive, and Drake has spent well over a decade building relationships with artists across multiple generations. As he prepares to release his next project, ICEMAN, there are plenty of collaborators who could realistically appear on the album. Some are longtime allies, others are younger stars Drake has embraced along the way.
Here are five artists we’d love to see pop up on ICEMAN, plus one honorable mention who might already be in the mix.
Honorable Mention: Future
There’s a chance Future could actually appear on ICEMAN, despite the past tension between him and Drake. Media personality Charlamagne Tha God recently claimed he heard from a reliable source that Future might be featured on the album. While some fans brushed off the rumor, it doesn’t sound impossible.
Future himself has suggested that the beef between him and Drake may not be as serious as the internet believes. In an industry where relationships shift quickly, a simple conversation could smooth things over. Young Thug has even hinted that a reconciliation might happen behind the scenes. Honestly, I feel like Drake and Future are more like brothers—there’s tension, but not true animosity.
5. Young Thug
Young Thug and Drake have maintained a solid relationship over the years. There hasn’t been any public tension between the two (That whole phone call leak with Thugger dishing on Drake got shut down almost immediately), and Thugger has often spoken about Drake with respect. Their collaborations show strong chemistry whenever they collaborate.
Songs like “Sacrifices,” “Ice Melts,” and “Way 2 Sexy” demonstrate how well their styles blend together. Drake’s melodic instincts often mesh perfectly with Thug’s unpredictable flows, creating tracks that feel both polished and chaotic in the best way. If ICEMAN is aiming for memorable moments, bringing Thugger onto the album would be a strong move.
4. Lil Wayne
Lil Wayne and Drake share one of the most iconic mentor-student relationships in modern hip-hop. Wayne signed Drake to Young Money back in the late 2000s, helping launch him into global superstardom. However, their relationship has occasionally sparked curiosity among fans.
During Drake’s heated battle with Kendrick Lamar, Wayne stayed relatively quiet, which was a litttle surprising. There have also been old rumors about Drake becoming involved with one of Wayne’s former partners while Wayne was incarcerated. Despite the gossip, there has never been clear evidence that their bond truly fractured.
In fact, Drake has frequently paid homage to Wayne, even using photos of him for his profile pictures on social media for long stretches of time. Musically, their chemistry has always been undeniable. Tracks like “The Motto,” “HYFR,” “Miss Me,” and “Believe Me” remain fan favorites. A Wayne appearance on ICEMAN would feel both nostalgic and powerful.
3. Yeat
Drake has always had a knack for aligning himself with rising talent, and Yeat is one of the most buzzed-about artists of the current generation. Their connection has already produced some interesting moments.
The two have collaborated on songs like “IDGAF” and the underrated “DOG HOUSE,” showing that their styles can surprisingly complement each other. Beyond music, their relationship appears genuine. Drake even allowed Yeat to film parts of the music video for “Made It On Our Own” at his home.
With Yeat continuing to grow his fanbase, another collaboration could help bring fresh energy to ICEMAN while reinforcing Drake’s long tradition of working with the next wave.
2. 21 Savage
If there’s one artist who has consistently stood beside Drake through the recent drama, it’s 21 Savage. Every time the conversation around Drake turns heated, 21 has been quick to defend him while still maintaining relationships with others in the industry.
Their musical partnership has also been extremely successful. The duo released the collaborative album Her Loss in 2022, which produced multiple hits and highlighted their natural chemistry. Since then, they’ve continued working together, including on “MR. RECOUP” from 21 Savage’s album WHAT HAPPENED TO THE STREETS?
21 Savage has even joined Drake at several concert stops and has openly talked about wanting to help repair some of the fractured relationships within the rap world. Given their history and loyalty, it would be surprising if he didn’t appear on ICEMAN at least once.
1. Travis Scott
Out of everyone on this list, Travis Scott might be the most exciting collaboration for ICEMAN. Travis remains one of the biggest stars in hip-hop today, and his high-energy sound could provide the kind of blockbuster moment Drake might want for this project.
The two already have a track record of memorable collaborations. Songs like “SICKO MODE,” “Fair Trade,” and “MELTDOWN” have shown how well their styles can blend when the production hits just right. Travis thrives on cinematic beats and explosive energy, while Drake brings melody and charisma to the table.
There’s also an interesting layer of shared rivalry. Both artists have had public tension with Pusha T in the past, which makes their collaborations feel even more unified. If Drake is aiming to make ICEMAN feel like an event album, bringing Travis Scott into the mix would be a logical move.
