Lizzo really doesn’t give a damn.
Lizzo has officially announced that her new album BITCH will be released on June 5, and if the title alone did not get your attention, the artwork probably finished the job.
Let’s be real, Lizzo likely hit her commercial peak with Cuz I Love You, the breakout project that gave us mega-hits like “Juice,” “Truth Hurts,” and “Good As Hell.” That album turned her into a full-blown star, blending pop charisma, self-love anthems, and powerhouse vocals into something impossible to ignore.
But Lizzo has not just been sitting around polishing old trophies. She has continued experimenting, and one of her more interesting recent releases was last year’s mixtape MY FACE HURTS FROM SMILING. On that project, she leaned hard into her rap side, attacking trap beats with swagger and humor. It felt like someone scratching an itch they had been holding back for a while.
Now, BITCH feels like the next chapter. If the cover art is any clue, this album could be bold, raunchy, playful, and fully unapologetic. That’s where Lizzo shines brightest. When she is loud, fearless, and unfiltered, she becomes must-watch entertainment.
If she combines the confidence of her rap experiments with the polished pop instincts that made her famous, this project could be a real moment.
Honestly, music might be setting up for one of the best summers in years. We need it.
