Occasionally, I want to hear Lil Tjay rap just like this.
Lil Tjay quietly made a pretty respectable return with They Just Ain’t You. The project did not completely take over the internet, but it did show Tjay returning to basics stylistically. Instead of chasing random trends, he leaned into heartfelt tracks, melodic hooks, and the kind of emotional honesty that helped build his fanbase in the first place.
Now, for whatever reason, he decided to tack on one more track to the album called “Go Tati.” Even though the song lasts only about 1:11, it leaves a strong impression. Powered by a soulful yet hard-hitting trap beat that might honestly be the best instrumental on the project, Tjay sounds way more aggressive and energized than he did across most of the album.
Lyrically, he spends the track talking his s**t. He raps about leveling up, splurging on women, and calling out rats (No Hantavirus). His flow rides the production effortlessly, and his cool confidence in his delivery really stands out. He thinks he’s the s**t again, and I love it.
I feel like Lil Tjay is finding his groove again.
