Westside Gunn Spits Fire In “PREACHER MAN (Ye Remix)”

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Westside Gunn fits this beat better than OJ’s hands fit in that damn glove.

One of the hottest beats this year is Ye’s “PREACHER MAN” beat from his BULLY project. It’s simple but has a soulful sound that I absolutely love. As a matter of fact, I would call it “sacred.”

If there’s anyone I would be OK with tackling it, though, it would be Westside Gunn. The Buffalo rapper does exactly that on “PREACHER MAN (YE REMIX).” Of course, the ad-libs he delivers are outstanding (plenty of gunshots and random grunts), but it’s also the fact that he puts his head down and just straight-up raps that fully catches my attention. What does he rap about? His homies who have passed, those still glued to the streets, and how the game is missing him majorly. Dare I say this is one of his best rap performances ever?

I want to hear a Ye and Westside Gunn project in my lifetime.
