Rappers love gloves these days (These just look a little dustier than Drake’s).
Tyga is in a weird spot historically for me. West Coast music has had a major resurgence, and while he doesn’t always get full credit for it, he’s actually one of the artists who helped shape that lane. Still, if you say that out loud, people might laugh it off. In reality, he’s very comfortable in this sound, and “2POPS” proves it.
The track leans fully into sunny West Coast bounce, built on warped string samples, light synth textures, and a tight, bouncy percussion pattern. Tyga sounds right at home, sliding through the beat with playful, catchy flows. Lyrically, he sticks to his usual territory: flexing, women, and staying focused on the lifestyle.
What really stands out is the hook, which is extremely catchy and arguably the strongest part of the track. It’s a simple record, but a very effective one.

Quincy is the creator of Ratings Game Music. He loves writing about music, taking long walks on beaches, and spaghetti that fights him back.
