Let’s be honest, getting new Playboi Carti music still feels like spotting a solar eclipse. Thankfully, he fed fans pretty well with MUSIC, so these random side missions feel more like bonuses than necessities. His latest stop is “Smaxk Or Die (Remix)” alongside Fatt Smaxk, and the track absolutely sounds built for 21+ bandos.

The production is loaded with booming bass, hypnotic melodies, distorted textures, and the kind of energy that makes you feel like someone’s about to crowd surf off a gas station roof. Fatt Smaxk sets the tone early, gliding across the beat with a focused flow while sprinkling in melodic moments here and there. Lyrically, he keeps things reckless, talking about putting women badder than James Harden in game 7s through mattresses.

Carti slides in with the deep, heavily altered vocal style he occasionally leans into, sounding like his voice got marinated in subwoofers overnight. DJ Swamp Izzo randomly yelling throughout the song somehow adds even more chaos to the experience. Despite how brief the remix is, the chemistry works surprisingly well.

One of my favorite hooks of the year is on this track. Fatt Smaxk killed that s**t.
