I will never complain about new music coming from Lil Wayne.

Lil Wayne may already be preparing the next chapter in his long-running Tha Carter series. During a recent conversation with Wake Up Barstool, Wayne revealed that he has plenty of music ready and suggested that Tha Carter VII could arrive sooner rather than later.

According to Wayne, the title is not fully locked in yet. He explained that he is unsure whether his next release will officially be called Tha Carter VII or if he will save that title for a later project. Either way, he made it clear that he has music prepared and ready to go.

The announcement comes a year after the release of Tha Carter VI. The 19-track album included songs like “Hip-Hop” and “Sharks,” along with guest appearances from BigXThaPlug, Jelly Roll, 2 Chainz, and Big Sean. Reception to the album was mixed, with some listeners criticizing the project for sounding overly ambitious and somewhat unfocused structurally.

Still, Wayne continuing to release music at this stage of his career remains notable. Few rappers have maintained this level of longevity while continuing to expand one of hip-hop’s most recognizable album series over two decades. You gotta respect it.
