Olivia Rodrigo dominates the Billboard 200 as “you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love” breaks records.
Initial projections had you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love opening slightly above 300,000 units, but Olivia Rodrigo ultimately delivered a much larger debut than expected. The album officially lands at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 485,000 equivalent album units, powered by 218.41 million on-demand streams and 273,000 in pure album sales.
This performance sets a new benchmark for 2026, giving Olivia the biggest debut by a solo artist this year and overtaking Drake’s ICEMAN, which previously led with 463,000 units.
The rollout played a major role in the success, with standout singles like “drop dead” and “the cure” building strong streaming momentum ahead of release day. Combined with Olivia’s rapidly growing global fanbase, the album’s launch translated into one of the most dominant first-week performances in recent pop memory.
With this debut, Olivia Rodrigo extends a perfect streak: SOUR (295K), GUTS (302K), and now you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love (485K) have all debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
