BabyDrill is a crazy man on this project.
Atlanta continues producing exciting new rap talent, and BabyDrill is making a strong case to be among the city’s next breakout names. His latest album, Still Dangerous, arrives after years of growing buzz and showcases exactly why listeners continue gravitating toward his music.
The 15-song effort is fueled by undomesticated energy. BabyDrill attacks booming instrumentals with confidence, delivering animated performances that sound damn-there illegal in 48 countries (Texas and Florida probably welcome this s**t). His aggressive style pairs naturally with hard-hitting production, creating an album designed for listeners who still have tons of cartilage left in their eardrums.
The supporting cast only adds to the wahala. Appearances from Lil Yachty, Hunxho, VonOff1700, Fatt Smaxk, and Chuckyy provide welcome variety while allowing BabyDrill to remain the violent centerpiece. BTW: The closest thing to a love song on this album would be “BINARY TRIGGER,” as it sounds like Von and BabyDrill are legitimately in love with their blickies.
So far, the tracks that have caught my attention are “JUST A RAPPER,” “KNOCKED OFF,” and “NHM.” The good news is that the project maintains a violent tone throughout, so if you’re a sicko, you’ll probably have no problem listening to it from start to finish.
