Drake’s biggest competition continues to be Drake.
Drake’s dominance on streaming platforms continues with another historic achievement.
ICEMAN has officially become the longest-running No. 1 hip-hop album in U.S. Apple Music history after spending 46 days atop the chart. The previous benchmark belonged to two other Drake releases, Certified Lover Boy and For All The Dogs, both of which reached 44 days.
The record highlights just how successful ICEMAN has been since release. The album debuted with 463,000 first-week units and is quickly approaching two million total units sold, making it the top-selling rap album on the market today. Even weeks after its release, it continues returning to No. 1 on Apple Music.
Hit records have fueled much of that momentum. “Janice STFU” reached No. 1, while several songs from the album have inspired countless memes and online discussions. Drake once again leaned into making records with broad appeal, and listeners have rewarded that approach in a major way.
It’s been a very good year for Drake, which would only surprise people crazy enough to believe “Not Like Us” ended him. Cheers to the 6 God.
