Summer Rosee Captures Heartbreak Beautifully on “Closed Chapters”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

An emotional journey through heartbreak, distance, and the courage to let someone go with grace.

Heartbreak doesn’t have to sound so dramatic. Summer Rosee understands that, so she takes the opposite approach on “Closed Chapters.”

The 14-year-old Australian artist delivers an emotional indie-pop record centered around two people who have clearly fallen apart but still can’t completely let each other go. Instead of yelling or pointing fingers, the song lives in the uncomfortable silence that comes when a relationship is ending and neither person knows what to say anymore.

The production deserves plenty of love, too. It carries this springy feel that somehow sounds peaceful and heartbreaking at the same time, giving Summer the perfect backdrop to tell her story.

Vocally, she sounds incredibly sincere. You can hear the emotion in every line, but she does a good job of keeping her melody intact. The bilingual English and Spanish ending also gives the record an extra emotional layer that makes the final moments stick with you long after the song ends.

Everything about “Closed Chapters” feels authentic, from the writing to the performance. It’s a great start to a career that will clearly blossom into something special. Check out the new single below.
