KAROL G is back with a new album called… Actually, it has a title I don’t feel like typing out. Just know she has a new project out, and we’re here to review one of its biggest collaborations. Since we’re low-key obsessed with the ICEMAN era right now, we figured the Drake-assisted “Ahí” was the obvious choice.
“Ahí” is the definition of feel-good music. The track is powered by warm, breezy reggaeton production that feels tailor-made for the non-demon hours of a night out. Much to my surprise, Drake spends most of his time singing in Spanish before switching back to English toward the end, all while delivering the airy melodic vocals we’ve come to expect from him.
KAROL G is equally impressive, gliding across the production with effortless confidence while matching Drake’s energy at every turn. The chemistry between the two is undeniable, with their vocals weaving in and out of each other like dance partners who have rehearsed together for years.
I have no idea what they’re saying for most of the track, but honestly, I don’t think it matters. The melodies, the vibe, and the chemistry do all the talking.
