Lil Uzi Vert’s new album will debut at No. 25 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Lil Uzi Vert’s Maverick “Almost Forever” EP” will officially debut at No. 25 with 23K first-week units sold.

Uzi surprised fans with the eight-track EP last week, and it serves as his first release under his new deal with Roc Nation. There aren’t any features, and the whole thing feels like Uzi reached back into his bag and pulled out some of the sounds that made his older music so beloved. That’s probably been the biggest compliment I’ve seen surrounding the project.

The numbers become even more interesting when you compare it to Eternal Atake 2, which debuted with 61,382 units in 2024. That album was also light on features and was frequently viewed as a throwaway project meant to help Uzi fulfill the obligations of his previous deal.

With Maverick “Almost Forever” EP it’s hard to tell what the actual goal was. Maybe Uzi wanted to get the engine running again. Maybe he just felt like making some music and dropping it. Whatever the case, I don’t think 23K tells the whole story. The project has enough nostalgia and personality to deserve more attention than the numbers suggest.
