Could you imagine if Trippie and Sexyy were married… Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
Trippie Redd is getting ready to drop his massive new album NDA this week, and I call it massive because I really feel like we’re at a turning point with his career.
The talent is still there, but I know there are plenty of people who feel like Trippie is past his prime. Based on the rollout for NDA and the tracks I’ve heard so far, I’m actually pretty optimistic about what he’s about to deliver.
His latest single, “Meet The Redds,” features Sexyy Red and production from ATL Jacob, who gives the track a vintage trap feel that immediately made me think of standoffs being held in trap houses. The two artists go back and forth throughout the song, with Sexyy bringing her signature carefree vocal style while Trippie comes through with his signature heavy melodic sound, and he actually slides here.
My favorite part of the track is easily the chorus, which is delivered by Sexyy. The worst part of the track? The lyrics. In a very lazy way, they talk about making money, stiff-arming women, and being them dudes. I would actually play this track again. It’s not bad at all.
