Polo G needs to experiment more like this.
Polo G is back at it with a new single called “OMG,” and although he’s a long way from his “RAPSTAR” era, he continues to show that he can still deliver when the right song comes along.
“OMG” is built around vibrant production that’s easier to enjoy than some rice with some butter on it. I could actually see the s**t going crazy at a black skate rink in Atlanta, especially with the track’s upbeat energy and smooth bounce. As for Polo G, he relies on an emotional, highly melodic rap style to talk about finding the one, appreciating her, and making sure she’s locked into a max contract with him.
I really like the vulnerable direction Polo G takes here because it brings out a side of him that doesn’t always get the spotlight. The chorus is probably my favorite part of the track, but the lyrics also have some lovey-dovey moments that help give the song more heart. With summer winding down, “OMG” arrives at a pretty perfect time. It’s warm, catchy af, relatable, and easy to play repeatedly.
