After making noise with Kendrick Lamar, AZ Chike looks ready to turn his growing momentum into something much bigger.
AZ Chike is far from a rookie, but No Rest For The Wicked could be the project that pushes him to another level. He already has several releases under his belt, including three projects from 2024: Don’t Die Yet, Spooky Summer, and CHIZZLE. Now, he’s preparing to drop his first major album on September 18th.
His profile continued to rise after appearing on Kendrick Lamar’s GNX, where he delivered a standout performance on “peekaboo.” Since then, AZ has kept his name circulating through collaborations with 6LACK, The Game, and others. There’s clearly been some momentum building around him, and this feels like the perfect time to capitalize on it.
We still don’t know everything about No Rest For The Wicked. There’s no confirmed tracklist or complete list of producers yet, although Tyler, The Creator and Pharrell Williams are expected to have involvement. Then there’s the album cover, which is a blurry image that somehow tells us absolutely nothing.
Regardless, I’m excited for this one. AZ Chike has already shown what he can do, and now he gets a major opportunity to prove he belongs at the next level.
