5. WYD

This track really screams nonchalant, “I don’t care” attitude, and I’m living for it. KARRAHBOOO is talking about the dude blowing up her phone, constantly asking her what she’s on, what she’s doing, and if he can link up. Other females are jealous, wanting that same attention, but she honestly doesn’t really put her energy into it.

She’s not looking for love, she’s not beefing with nobody. Honestly, she’s just about her work and her bag, and everything else is just kinda go-with-the-flow.

4. No Hook

True to the title, “No Hook” is all verse. But the flow is constant and breezy, while the bars are delivered coolly and laid back. Her lyrics are real and raw and hella clever, while the beat is all synths and heavy percussion.

The focus is her voice, and honestly, it should be.

3. WYO

“WYO” features Monaleo, and this genuinely feels like a match made in heaven. KARRAHBOOO and Monaleo play off each other so well, their flows really complement each other, and they can definitely go bar for bar.

The track has a way of making you feel like you’re with your girl on FaceTime, or y’all are freestyling in a car under the stars. It’s hype, brutal, and effortless.

2. Do U 1 Better

“Do U 1 Better” sounds different from a majority of the album, but it’s a welcome change. With pretty piano and a crispy, repetitive beat in the background, it feels like KARRAHBOOO is really in her flow state with this one.

It’s really about people playing in her business and getting in her way, acting like she owes them something when she’s just trying to live her life. It sounds harsh, but honestly, she’s real for that.

1. Understand Me

“Understand Me” has more of an R&B-type beat than the rest of the album. Her flow is a little slower here, but it doesn’t take the edge off her lyrics.

The track is all about the people she used to ride with and support through everything, and now they aren’t even in her life. She treats the people who’ve been down with her really well, but she’s tired of acting like the people she lost and the life she lives don’t affect her.

It feels like people don’t understand her, who she is, the things she’s been through, and the way she be moving. She’s moving for herself, though—her own peace and her own privacy.

KARRAHBOOO’s album NOT DA 2 is reminding everybody exactly who she is, and I think she really ate that up, tbh. Every single track is just her living her truth, and it shows.

There are 11 tracks on the album, and the runtime is only about 22 minutes. Don’t let the length of the songs throw you, though. She fits SO much into such a little time for every single track, and none of them feel unfinished.

NOT DA 2 is very hip-hop-heavy, with a couple songs leaning into R&B influences a little bit toward the end of the album. KARRAHBOOO talks about making music, making money, situationships, and the hate that accumulates as she’s doing what she does.

Every track fits with the next, and the album as a whole really paints a bigger picture of what her life is like.

Overall, I really enjoyed this album from the start. It’s to the point without feeling overly harsh, the energy is there despite the chill delivery, and there are a lot of memorable bars that make you wanna play these tracks back again and again.
