Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” Spends a Historic 21st Week at No. 1

You might need a spatula to pry “Choosin’ Texas” from the top of the charts at this point.

Ella Langley is one week away from matching one of the most intimidating records in Billboard Hot 100 history.

“Choosin’ Texas” refuses to surrender the No. 1 position, extending its astonishing reign to 21 weeks. That moves Langley within one week of tying Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which currently holds the all-time record with 22 cumulative weeks atop the chart.

Unlike Carey’s holiday standard, which returns every Christmas season, “Choosin’ Texas” has built its historic run without an annual reset. The traditional country ballad has become a genuine crossover phenomenon without abandoning the honky-tonk qualities that made it stand out.

The rest of this week’s top five remains packed with women. Stella Lefty holds the No. 2 position with “Boston,” spending a third consecutive week at its peak. The breakout hit has now been on the Hot 100 for 22 weeks and continues to threaten to take the crown if Langley finally loses momentum.

Taylor Swift remains at No. 3 with “I Knew It, I Knew You.” The song previously ruled the chart for two weeks. Ariana Grande’s “hate that i made you love me” rises from No. 5 to No. 4 after also spending time at No. 1.

Morgan Wallen rounds out the top five as “Been By Now” falls one position. The six-week-old single previously peaked at No. 2.

One more successful week would place Ella Langley beside Mariah Carey. Two would leave her standing alone.
