The 13-track expansion gives Ken Carson’s latest album another meaningful boost on the Billboard 200.
Ken Carson has officially given XPERIMENT another boost on the Billboard 200.
Following the release of its CARTUNEZ deluxe edition, the album lands at No. 52 on this week’s chart with approximately 15,000 equivalent album units. The updated version contains 35 tracks, with the 13 new CARTUNEZ additions expanding the original 22-song project.
It is important to clarify that CARTUNEZ is being treated as an extension of XPERIMENT. Its streams are combined with those from the original album, so the No. 52 placement and 15,000 units are credited to the complete project rather than counted as a separate debut.
While those numbers may not look enormous, they represent a solid return for a deluxe edition arriving nearly two months after its parent album. XPERIMENT originally debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 with approximately 42,000 equivalent album units, giving Carson another top-10 project. The expansion has now provided the album with additional life while giving his listeners 13 more tracks to destroy their speakers with.
Highlights from CARTUNEZ include “swag jack,” “roxy reynolds,” and “9 bitches,” with the new material leaning into Carson’s distorted production and aggressive energy.
Fifteen thousand units from a deluxe is nothing to sneeze at. Ken Carson is officially doing big boy things.
