Can Miley crack the top 10?

Miley’s new album, Bass Persuades, is currently projected to earn approximately 46,000 equivalent album units in its first week in the United States, according to an early estimate attributed to Nora Music Inc.

That figure offers a first look at how the album may perform on the Billboard 200, though it remains a projection. The final total can change as the tracking week unfolds, and its chart position will depend on how competing releases perform.

The album’s title track has drawn the most streams so far, followed by “Let’s Get Married,” “Different Religion,” and “Orbit.” Bass Persuades also features guest appearances from Model/Actriz on “Different Religion” and Andrew Wyatt of Miike Snow on “Neon Signs.”

Released September 18, Bass Persuades is Miley’s tenth studio album and her first under the name Miley. It follows Something Beautiful, continuing a run of releases from an artist who rarely sticks with one sound for long. For perspective, Something Beautiful opened with 44,000 units, while Endless Summer Vacation debuted with 119,000 in 2023.

I’ll be honest: I expected a bigger opening projection for Bass Persuades. Still, the tracking week isn’t over, so I’m curious to see where the final number lands.
