It looks like EARTHGANG is ready to play Captain Planet out here. More artists should be. Arriving during Climate Week NYC, the duo’s single, “Cool Me Down,” finds a clever way to address the climate crisis, rising temperatures, and the possibility that global warming could destroy us long before artificial intelligence gets the opportunity.
The track also features one of the coolest beats you will hear this year. Built with sounds from the natural world, the production unfolds through several layers, heart-pumping elements, and an energetic groove guaranteed to get you out of your seat. NATURE is credited as a collaborator, with a share of the royalties supporting projects responding to the climate emergency.
EARTHGANG work around that backdrop brilliantly. Their slick verses play with two different kinds of heat: the dangerous temperatures affecting the planet and the flaming-hot women leaving them completely captivated. That playful angle keeps the record from sounding too preachy.
