WOODGRAIN has returned with “Wife Talk,” the fifth single from the Nashville duo of Landon Sears and Briz Pirelli.

The first thing that stands out is the production. “Wife Talk” combines jazz, R&B, funk, and hip-hop into a groove that feels smooth, sophisticated, and slightly strange in the best possible way. There is an almost elevator-music quality running through the instrumental, but plenty of rhythm keeps the record from fading quietly into the background.

Landon and Briz refuse to treat that smooth production gently. Both attack the beat with relentless flows, dynamic deliveries, and an aggressive energy that creates an excellent contrast with the polished backdrop. They move through their verses effortlessly, sounding completely comfortable regardless of how often their approaches shift.

The lyrics focus on marriage, trust, and the gossip that can follow suspicious behavior. Both artists try to convince their wives that working late and arriving home at questionable hours does not mean they are being unfaithful. Their commitment remains intact, even if everything looks suspicious enough to inspire neighborhood rumors and uncomfortable conversations.

That playful concept gives “Wife Talk” plenty of personality. WOODGRAIN could have approached the subject seriously, but the duo instead turns marital tension into something stylish, humorous, and highly replayable.

Between the unusual production and forceful performances, this is a distinctive listen from beginning to end.
