Ice Meez Delivers a Bouncy West Coast Anthem With “I Been”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Ice Meez hasn’t missed in a while.

Ice Meez is back with a new single called “I Been.” One thing I really appreciate about him is his consistency. His message will always remain authentic, his California roots will always find their way into the production, and he will never compromise the truth when it is time to spit. His latest release gives us exactly that.

“I Been” rides on a bouncy, Cali-flavored instrumental that feels built for cars with hydraulics, flawless weather, and streets wide enough to cruise without interruption. Ice uses that backdrop to talk about making something out of nothing, remaining real at every stage of his journey, and confronting people who continue moving backward. Performance-wise, Ice delivers most of the track with a steady, grungy rap style that fits the production perfectly. However, he still manages to create a chorus that sticks and verses filled with lines that jump off the page.

Overall, “I Been” is confident, authentic, and unmistakably West Coast.
