Miley’s Bass Persuades Debuts at No. 1 With 61k Units

Miley’s latest reinvention earns the strongest possible chart result after outperforming every opening-week projection.

Miley’s Bass Persuades has officially debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, outperforming every projection attached to its opening week.

The album earned 61,000 equivalent units in the United States, including 47,000 pure album sales and 14.2 million on-demand streams. That final total comfortably exceeded Hits Daily Double’s updated forecast of 40,000–45,000 units, as well as the earlier 46,000-unit estimate attributed to Nora Music Inc.

The title track attracted the most streams during the album’s opening run, followed by “Let’s Get Married,” “Different Religion,” and “Orbit.” Bass Persuades also includes appearances from Model/Actriz on “Different Religion” and Andrew Wyatt of Miike Snow on “Neon Signs.”

Released September 18, Bass Persuades is Miley’s 10th studio album and her first released solely under the name Miley. It follows Something Beautiful, continuing the stylistic reinvention that has defined much of her career.

For perspective, Something Beautiful opened with 44,000 equivalent units, while Endless Summer Vacation debuted with 119,000 units in 2023. Although Bass Persuades started below the latter project, it secured the chart’s most important position.

I’ll be honest: I expected bigger numbers from Miley. Still, 61,000 units and a No. 1 debut look much stronger than the projections suggested. With pure sales accounting for more than three-quarters of the total, her most dedicated fans clearly showed up.

New name, new sound, same ability to top the Billboard 200.
