Sharitza Yiselle Shines on Her Dreamy Debut EP “Sunsets Happen So Fast”

Sharitza Yiselle makes time stand still on her debut EP.

Sunsets Happen So Fast is Sharitza Yiselle’s debut EP, and I’m honestly wondering where she has been all my life. The singer blends silky R&B, bubbly pop, and Latin influences into a sound so hypnotic that time almost seems to slow down while you listen. The project is dreamy, refreshing, and immediately left me wanting to hear more from her.

The EP opens with “a little closer,” a track that is wildly catchy and easily a nine on my 10-point dance scale. This was my introduction to Sharitza, and my immediate reaction was, “Wow, her voice.” She sounds smooth, relaxed, and completely effortless. That kind of delivery is a gift.

“One thing” follows with a funky, playful soul sound. It’s flirty and sensual without becoming too heavy or intense. Sharitza switches languages as the chorus approaches, and the transition is so seamless that you could miss it if you aren’t paying attention. She also eats up some impressive high notes.

“why?” slows things down while Sharitza asks questions about life, relationships, and everything in between. Her vulnerability feels familiar, nostalgic, and bittersweet. The song pulled me inside my own mind and had me asking questions, too. I love when an artist makes you stop and realize, “I’ve never really thought about that.”

Sharitza closes the EP with “So I’ll hold on,” a bumping R&B track about fighting to preserve a relationship through its trials. The subject is heavy, but the music remains light, bubbly, and beautiful. That contrast gives the song hope without ignoring how difficult love can be. It may be my favorite track.

Sunsets Happen So Fast carries a dreamy, weightless feeling from beginning to end. Every song sounds different, yet they all belong together. Listening feels like lying in a flower-filled meadow as the passing day gradually changes the scenery, atmosphere, and your perspective.

Overall, I was low-key impressed. Sharitza sounds like she already understands what she wants to create. She demonstrates versatility without losing the dreamy quality that defines the project. If this is only her first EP, I’m genuinely excited to hear where she goes next.
