1900Rugrat and That Mexican OT Join Forces on “Boogie Man”

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

I’ve never seen a collaboration so fitting.

1900Rugrat and That Mexican OT are cut from the same crazy-ass cloth. Both rappers are comfortable showing off their goofy sides, but when it is time to spit, their skills are nothing to play with. On “Boogie Man,” they bring both qualities to the table.

The track runs on a muddy, bass-heavy instrumental packed with eerie piano notes and blaring horns. Combined with the screwed-down chorus, the production sounds perfect for October.

Lyrically, the two rappers talk about their love for Dracos, gang ties, and reckless habits that would probably make any responsible adult nervous.

That Mexican OT approaches the beat with a relaxed delivery before breaking into the tongue-twisting flows that have become one of his signatures. 1900Rugrat brings a different flavor, attacking his verse with a bolder and more concise delivery.

Is “Boogie Man” the greatest track I’ve ever heard? No. However, if you want to hear two unhinged dudes wild out, I recommend you press play.
