ScHoolboy Q Announces “THANK QUE” Album for 2027

The TDE rapper announces his first album since “BLUE LIPS” and dismisses retirement talk.

ScHoolboy Q has announced that his next album, THANK QUE, will arrive in 2027.

While on stage at a show discussing the project, the TDE rapper also addressed his future in music and dismissed any possibility of walking away permanently.

“New album next year … I will never retire,” Q said.

Fans should be happy to hear both parts of that statement. Q has never operated like an artist interested in releasing music simply to meet a quota. He tends to disappear, live his life, and return once he has something meaningful to present. That approach can test listeners’ patience, but the finished albums usually justify the wait.

His most recent project, BLUE LIPS, arrived in March 2024. The critically acclaimed 18-track album included contributions from Freddie Gibbs, Ab-Soul, Rico Nasty, AzChike, Devin Malik, Lance Skiiiwalker, Jozzy, and Childish Major. Q did not deliver another full-length release in 2025, making THANK QUE his first announced album since that project.

BLUE LIPS found Q experimenting without abandoning the gritty personality that originally made him special. Its production constantly shifted, while his writing explored growth, street life, success, and the complicated emotions attached to his journey.

Few details surrounding THANK QUE have been revealed beyond its title and planned 2027 arrival. Still, the name already sounds reflective and appreciative. Thankfully, Q’s promise to never retire confirms that it should represent another chapter—not the final page.

Mud is a fantastic album. Every song is strong, and Remi Wolf shines on every track. Her voice is fantastic, as are her lyrics, and I love this folk/country-influenced indie rock sound for her. There are so many different genres that influence Mud, but it all works cohesively.
