Top 5 Singles on the Billboard Hot 100 This Week (10/12): Drake, Ella Langley & Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift’s “Patient Zero” holds atop the Billboard Hot 100 for a second week as Drake and Don Toliver’s “Solar Eclipse” debuts in the Top 5.

5. Drake & Don Toliver – “Solar Eclipse”

Drake and Don Toliver debut at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Solar Eclipse,” making an immediate entrance into the Top 5.

The track, which takes elements from another song on this list, “Choosin’ Texas,” gives Drake yet another top-5 hit. For Don Toliver, surprisingly, it’s his first.

4. Morgan Wallen – “Been By Now”

Morgan Wallen climbs three spots to No. 4 with “Been By Now.” The single has now spent 11 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 after previously reaching No. 2.

Morgan is back inside the Top 5, joining Ella Langley and Stella Lefty in giving country another strong showing near the summit. With “Been By Now” moving in the right direction again, that No. 2 peak is starting to look reachable.

3. Stella Lefty – “Boston”

Stella Lefty jumps three spots to No. 3 with “Boston.” The song has now spent 27 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 after previously holding its No. 2 peak for six weeks.

Stella is right back in the mix after sitting at No. 6 last week. With only Taylor Swift and Ella Langley ahead of her, “Boston” is once again knocking on the door of its best placement. Getting past those two won’t be easy, but this rebound gives her fans something to get excited about.

2. Ella Langley – “Choosin’ Texas”

Ella Langley holds steady at No. 2 with “Choosin’ Texas.” The song has now spent 51 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 after an incredible, record-breaking 24 weeks at No. 1.

Nearly a full year on the chart, and Ella is still sitting one spot away from the crown. That’s absolutely wild. Taylor may have interrupted her reign, but “Choosin’ Texas” clearly isn’t ready to pack its bags. I will say, it does look a little weird not seeing it at number 1, which says a lot.

1. Taylor Swift – “Patient Zero”

Taylor Swift remains at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Patient Zero,” earning a second week at the summit. The song has spent both of its chart weeks at the top.

After ending Ella Langley’s historic reign, Taylor is making herself comfortable with the crown. “Patient Zero” hasn’t known anything other than No. 1 yet, which is a pretty ridiculous start. What’s funny is that as this track comes in, “I Knew It, I Knew You” leaves. Must be nice being Taylor.
