While I’m on vacation, give me this track, a shot, and a beach, and I will be fine and dandy.

Victony clearly has a hit on his hands. “SLICK,” which appears on his album STARLIFE, is a heart-pumping, dance-ready Afrobeats banger that I would love to hear on an island with a drink in my hand. The original already gives you plenty to work with, so I wasn’t exactly waiting for somebody to fix it.

Now, a remix featuring Summer Walker and Don Toliver has arrived. Both actually add to the track’s flavor. Don brings his signature futuristic R&B sound, while Summer adds some soul and urgency to the words. Their contributions give the song a different feel without taking away the energy that makes the original so easy to enjoy.

The combination isn’t my favorite, though. Honestly, I would’ve preferred some other Nigerian artists on the track instead. Still, the remix did its job: It made me press play on the s**t.
