Jacquees Adds Lil Baby to His Club-Ready “Lick Back” Remix

Rating: 4 out of 5.

This s**t is tough!

Frfr, one of my favorite albums this year is Jacquees’ Mood 2. It had the slow jams and R&B bangers you expect from him, but he also knew when to turn things up. One of those moments was “Lick Back” with Juvenile. Adding Lil Baby to the remix was a smart move because this beat practically has a parking space reserved for him.

“Lick Back” fits Baby’s style perfectly. The high-energy, club-ready production gives him room to deliver a relentless flow and some lowkey diabolical bars, all with the most unbothered tone imaginable. What surprised me is that he starts the track off. I probably would’ve preferred either a verse toward the end or two verses: one at the beginning and one toward the end. But hey, beggars can’t be choosers.

Jacquees’ contributions remain the same, which is fine with me. If this is your introduction to the track, you’ll appreciate how he combines his polished, passionate vocals with a little extra pep in his step. He keeps the R&B flavor intact while matching the beat’s energy.

Baby gives the song another reason to stay in rotation, but let’s be clear: with or without him, this s**t is flames.
