Lil Durk has received major support over the past few months.
Support for Lil Durk’s release is extending beyond his inner circle. JAY-Z, J. Cole, and Michael Rubin have written to the judge overseeing his case, asking the court to consider their experiences with him as he seeks bond.
Their letters accompany a proposal involving future music earnings and other financial guarantees. The request follows Durk’s September 11 acquittal on all five charges in his first federal trial. He remains incarcerated while awaiting a separate trial involving murder-related racketeering and firearms charges, which he denies.
In his letter, JAY-Z highlighted Durk’s efforts to create opportunities for young Chicago artists and argued that the acquittal should carry weight. Cole offered a personal account of their Grammy-winning collaboration, “All My Life,” recalling Durk’s determination to deliver a positive message to younger listeners.
Cole also described a juvenile detention center visit where young people expressed their connection to Durk’s music. Rubin emphasized the rapper’s charitable work and willingness to help others.
Another notable letter reportedly comes from Andrea Robinson, mother of Saviay’a “Lul Pab” Robinson. She said the family does not object to bond if the court considers release appropriate.
Durk’s bond review is scheduled for November 4, with his next trial set for August 30, 2027. No decision granting release has been announced.
