Lady A’s spiritual new single has a beautiful message for you, regardless of your own faith.
Lady A’s new song “Bigger Picture” is overtly Christian, despite the group typically releasing secular country-pop. Lead singer Hillary Scott has always been open about her Christian faith, and it’s front and center on “Bigger Picture.” At the same time, everyone has something to gain from this song.
The first verse details the hardships that Hillary has witnessed. She’s seen marriages crumble, illnesses of loved ones, and even her own miscarriage. She has felt as though she’s stuck, with no support and no hope in sight. What she reminds herself is that God has a bigger picture, and she’s only seeing individual frames of it.
This message can go beyond just the Christian one. It’s important for all of us to see the bigger picture. People will get so caught up in the bad things in their lives that they’ll forget that it isn’t the end. Everything passes eventually. Whether you believe in any deities, any form of spirituality, or none, we can all be reminded that there’s more to life than the moment we’re in, even if it feels impossible to escape.
The music is lovely. Hillary’s voice is beautiful, and the instrumentals remind me of Kacey Musgraves and Noah Kahan, though it remains distinctly Lady A.
I really like “Bigger Picture.” I’m not usually into Christian music, but I love the message of “Bigger Picture” and how it can apply to people of any belief system.
