2 Chainz & Statik Selektah Keep It Smooth on “A Week In Paris”

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

2 Chainz is cool as s**t, bro.

Can you believe 2 Chainz hasn’t dropped a solo studio album since 2022? No wonder the world is f**king upside down. Thankfully, that drought is ending with Playaz Only Live Once, produced entirely by Statik Selektah. The latest preview is “A Week In Paris.”

I love how smooth the production sounds. It has this droopy, laid-back feel with just enough knock to keep your head moving. This is some s**t you throw on when depression hits your body on a lame-ass afternoon.

Chainz matches it with one of his slickest deliveries, sounding like he’s reclining after an amazing high. His signature clever punchlines are still there, and he rides the beat effortlessly while discussing his grind, taking life at his own pace, and enjoying what Paris has to offer.

As a tone-setter, this works. It makes me curious about what he and Statik have put together. Is it a little sleepy? Maybe. But sometimes, I’m perfectly fine hearing Chainz talk his s**t from a comfortable chair.
