Benny killed this s**t.

It’s going to be a very Griselda November, regardless of what the relationships look like behind the scenes. All three main guys have projects coming, including Benny The Butcher, whose A Friend Of Ours 2 is on the way. His latest preview is “Elevate.”

This production sounds like the final scene of an action movie, when somebody walks away from an exploding building in slow motion. The synths, cinematic atmosphere, and knock make everything feel important. Benny probably should’ve recorded his verse wearing sunglasses.

Rapping-wise, he sounds like someone who won at life but remembers exactly what the victory cost. With a tricky flow and plenty of energy, he reflects on his grind since 2017, reaching his dreams, and leaving the dope alone. He also makes it clear that everybody claiming to understand his struggle wasn’t actually there.

The track delivers urgency while almost functioning as an acceptance speech. Benny sounds comfortable with his success without losing his hunger. Of the three Griselda projects coming, his is the one I’m most excited to hear.
