DJ Lala, The FaNaTiX & Äyanna Turn Up the Chemistry on “Bedroom Eyes”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

A playful Afropop gem about mutual attraction and the messages hidden in a lingering look.

Some songs flirt before anybody even opens their mouth. “Bedroom Eyes” is one of them. Australian DJ, producer, and radio host DJ Lala joins forces with The FaNaTiX and East London vocalist Äyanna for a single that makes eye contact feel like a full conversation.

The track introduces Sugar, the upcoming joint EP from DJ Lala and The FaNaTiX. Their sounds meet naturally here: vibrant house energy connects with dancehall and Caribbean influences, while heavy low-end bass and Afro-fused drums keep everything moving. It’s easy to imagine this working in a basement club or at a rooftop day party. Different lighting, same questionable decisions.

Äyanna brings the playful confidence that ties it together. Her high-pitched delivery keeps the flirting direct but controlled, exploring the little signals people send when the attraction is mutual. She sounds comfortable letting the tension do some of the talking. If you’re a fan of the PinkPantheresses of the world, this one will click with you.

The London-shot video, directed by KJ Spio and filmed by Sparbz, matches that relaxed energy with backyard performance scenes. Altogether, “Bedroom Eyes” makes a sweet, bass-heavy introduction to Sugar.
