Skrilla Delivers Menacing Energy With “Bleed” and “Mandela”

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

No one in rap history has come close to sounding like Skrilla…

Skrilla has gotten plenty of mileage out of his 6’7 schtick, but his music has an identity beyond that attention. “Bleed” and “Mandela” make that clear. These two new releases stick to his signature sound, bringing a menacing atmosphere that feels perfectly timed for October.

Both tracks rely on haunting production; the kind that’ll f**k around and make you think twice about saying Candyman in the mirror five times. Though hella unorthodox, Skrilla’s style is too, so it works!

Skrilla keeps his flow understated throughout, adding to the brooding feel instead of competing with it. He sounds comfortable in that space, letting the production’s eerie qualities support his delivery.

Would I call “Bleed” and “Mandela” enjoyable? Probably not. But hearing both during Halloween makes perfect sense. If you play this s**t on vacation or while doing everyday tasks, I might judge you.
