Matilde G Shows Her Edgy Side on “Running Away”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

A fiery rock anthem about protecting your peace and knowing when to leave temptation behind.

Versatility has always been one of Matilde G’s biggest strengths to me. She’s tackled different sounds, and now she’s leaning into an edgy era with “Running Away.” The track appears on her rock album Beautiful Wreckage, and yes, the heat is turned up.

The production brings hard-hitting drums, edgy rock elements, and enough explosive energy to make you look around for something to destroy. I was thinking a guitar, but the music video has Matilde swinging a baseball bat at cars. Clearly, she came more prepared than I did.

Her performance complements that backdrop beautifully. She sings with spice and passion, delivering a catchy chorus and infectious melody without softening the track’s attitude. The lyrics explore unwanted attention, temptation, and the need to escape a love triangle before losing your sense of self.

What I appreciate most is the freedom and self-respect behind it. Matilde makes walking away sound assertive, even when the situation is exhausting. Give the flaming hot track a shot below.
