These YNs go crazy on this track.
At a certain point, we have to stop making new rappers pass an impossible entrance exam just because their style isn’t ours. Tezzus has my attention, at least a little, and “SNAKES AND FØXES” makes a solid case for another listen.
First off, the production is diabolical. This is trap music for a castle in the hood, where the security cameras are attached to gargoyles. The beat sounds unruly as hell, giving everybody involved a fitting place to get their reckless bars off.
Tezzus, YTB Fatt, diamond*, and Fox BD match that atmosphere with unapologetic, carefree verses. They talk reckless about violence, women, and spending money like Scrooge McDuck, bringing snappy flows and enough attitude to keep things moving.
Can I confidently tell you who’s who throughout? Absolutely not. I’m still taking attendance. But I can tell you the track has an ass-kicking vibe that works for me. The production is unruly, the performances sound engaged, and everybody seems committed to the same chaos. That’s enough to make this one entertaining.
