Dave East & Nas Join Forces For “Godfather IV” (Review)

Dave East is a younger version of Nas, to me.

In my opinion, Dave East and Nas rank at the top of the list when it comes to storytelling rap. On “Godfather IV,” the two wise-men decided to link up, and what they give us is a deep ass track that features a cold ass instrumental, and raw ass bars about everything from hood role modeling to street horror stories. In other words, Dave and Nas do what they do best on this song from start to finish.

I love how Nas openly admits to being Dave East’s mentor. We need more of this kind of unity between the old school and new school rappers.

OVERALL RATING (4/5)
