In case you missed it, Michael Jackson made even more history, A$AP Rocky named his favorite releases of the year so far, and Tyler, The Creator went scorched-earth on Top 5 rapper lists.

Chart Data reports that Michael Jackson is now the first and only act to score a new Hot 100 hit in six straight decades: the ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s.
I can’t lie, I love seeing records like this. If you ask me, Michael remains the biggest artist music has ever produced. This achievement is another reminder that his appeal was truly universal. Few artists have ever transcended barriers the way he did, reaching people of all races, generations, genders, and income levels. That’s why his legacy continues to feel untouchable. Absolute GOAT status.
4. Drake Had One Hilarious Question About JAY-Z’s Roots Picnic Freestyle
Drake was texting Mal in real time about JAY-Z’s Roots Picnic freestyle ?

Mal says Drake was one of the first people to text him about Hov’s performance, and had one question:
“Yo, but what’s up with the hair?” pic.twitter.com/4ag8jAcn8H
According to Mal from Rory & Mal, one of the first people Drake reached out to after hearing JAY-Z’s apparent shots at him during the Roots Picnic freestyle was Mal himself. And apparently, Drake wasn’t focused on the bars. The very first thing he asked was, “What’s up with his hair?”
To be fair, Hov had the hair fully unleashed, looking like the second coming of Ab-Soul. While the possibility of a Drake vs. JAY-Z battle could make for an entertaining summer, I can’t lie, I’m almost just as fascinated by Jay’s hair journey. Apparently, Drake is too. By the way, do any rappers still rock Caesars these days?
3. pgLang Officially Adds R&B Singer Imani Imani To Its Roster
pgLang announces Imani Imani as their newest signee, with her new album ‘Papercut’ out now ? pic.twitter.com/4o7ewHjbEh

Kendrick Lamar’s pgLang has officially added a new name to its roster: Imani Imani. The announcement arrives alongside her new project Papercut. Before today, she was completely off my radar, no sound, no visuals, no context. Now it’s clear she’s an R&B artist with a powerful voice and a deliberately mysterious presence. The question now is how far that combination can take her.
2. A$AP Rocky Highlights Kanye, J. Cole, Baby Keem & More In Praise Of 2026 Music
A$AP Rocky says 2026 has been an amazing year for music so far:

If you strip away the brutal Drake disses A$AP Rocky caught earlier this year, 2026 has actually been a strong run for him. His Don’t Be Dumb album helped set the tone for hip-hop this year, and his current tour is still generating plenty of buzz. Recently, he also took a moment to highlight some of his favorite releases, shouting out a wave of major artists who dropped standout projects. One noticeable omission? The Toronto superstar everyone is probably thinking of. And yes, people will definitely run with that if they want to. I choose to acknowledge the praise he decided to give… Yeah.
1. Tyler, The Creator Calls Rap Ranking Debates “Lame” And Tells Fans To Get A Hobby
Tyler, The Creator says people who fixate on objective Top 5 rapper lists are “f*cking lame”:
— Kurrco (@Kurrco) June 2, 2026
“I rather hear people talk about the sh*t they like… Who gives a f*ck? People really be arguing like, 'How dare you not put so-and-so on your Mount Rushmore?' Go get a f*cking hobby.… pic.twitter.com/SP6LKUlYTO
If there’s one hip-hop discussion Tyler, The Creator can’t stand, it’s the obsession with Top 5 rappers lists. He’s criticized them countless times over the years, and he doubled down on that opinion during a recent appearance on DJ Drama’s Gangsta Grillz podcast.
Personally, I understand his perspective. Tyler has always come across as someone who cares more about the art itself than where artists rank against one another. When you’re focused on creating great music, endless debates about Mount Rushmores and rankings can start to feel pretty meaningless. Especially when you’re an artist who regularly ends up on those lists anyway.
