Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, folks! For those of you that are single, this is the worst day of the year. For those of you who do have a significant other, it’s a time to waver between celebrating and not celebrating your lovely relationship. Regardless of how you feel about the holiday, who doesn’t enjoy a good love song? Below are our top 5 Valentine’s Day songs.

5. SOULMATE – LIZZO
“Soulmate” is a special entry for all the single folks out there! In case societal pressures have clouded your mind and you needed a reminder, Lizzo is here to let us know that we don’t need anybody but ourselves. So get out of your rut and use Valentine’s day to celebrate the most important person in your life — yourself!
4. HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY – OUTKAST
“Happy Valentine’s Day” is more hip-hop than lovey-dovey, but it’s still nice to listen to during Valentine’s day. It might not be the first song that comes to your mind when you think about Outkast or even Valentine’s Day, but it’s a song that must be played at least once every year on the day it is so aptly named after. Andre 3000 is correct in saying, “Every day the 14th!”, as, even though the official day is only one day a year, it’s important to remember to treat the people you love kindly every day.
3. ON CHILL – WALE
“On Chill” gives the world more of a modern look at love. It’s not a sappy love song, but it still conveys a sweet message that revolves around unconditional love. The song also addresses the idea of overcoming turmoil within a relationship.

If there was one thing Whitney Houston was good at, it was making love songs! In “I Have Nothing,” the fallen legend sings about being accountable and present in a relationship with your partner all while confessing your love for them. Whitney belts, ” have nothing, nothing, nothing; If I don’t have you, you, you, you, you” creating a warm ache in our hearts that we can’t escape from. When it’s all said and done, “I Got Nothing” is the perfect song to dedicate to your significant other to really convey how much you love them.

“I Will Always Love You” should be on the top of everyone’s Valentine’s Day playlist. Not only does Whitney serenade us with her beautiful vocals in the song, but she also captures the desire that we all feel when we’re around that special person we’re in love with. All in all, this song has a magical quality that seeps into your soul,
