Tory Lanez’s “W” is short, but sweet.
In these tough times, we need a talented musician like Tory Lanez to make us feel better. While “W” is a very short song (It’s only 1:52), I do think it can be an introduction (Both figuratively and literally) to something bigger.
“W” is powered by this emotional beat that sounds like it just finished getting a whooping. Over it, Tory Lanez speaks from the soul, rapping unapologetically about his come up, his baby mama drama, and his rude encounters with racist white folks. Though the Toronto rapper may be at his best when he’s on some melodic s**t, the heinous style of rapping he uses on this song is quite nice to listen to, too.
