Anderson .Paak Calls On J.I.D, Jay Rock & Noname For “Lockdown (Remix)”

LOCKDOWN

Anderson .Paak, J.I.D, Jay Rock & Noname

OVERALL RATING (????????)

“Lockdown” has just gotten woker.

Out of all of the black empowerment songs that have dropped this year, my favorite is “Lockdown.” Personally, I enjoy how the song smoothly but powerfully promotes protesting. Today, a remix to “Lockdown” has hit the net, and it features a bunch of rappers that know a thing or two about rebelliousness.

“Lockdown” maintains its smooth roots but features unadulterated bars by J.I.D, Jay Rock, and Noname. Though each rapper sounds pretty mellow on the song, they do hit us with wise lyrics about the Black Lives Matter movement, racism, and all of the pesky Karens of the world.

Listen to “Lockdown” at the top of the page.
