“Not That Deep” is a sweet journey for any fan of hip-hop looking to branch out with a new take on the genre.

Calm (aka Calm Connery) is a Toronto-based Filipino hip-hop artist that’s ready to show off his unique take on the genre. He moved to Toronto from the Philippines when he was only a year old and now strives to further his artistic development by exploring various musical styles that pay homage to his heritage. His work includes hip-hop tracks like the Emperor Bohe produced “Weight” and the 2019 upbeat single “Goodmorning.” Calm teams up with fellow Canadian producer Brazil for his latest release “Not That Deep.”

Calm raps slick romantic lyrics with a strong sense of authenticity and heartfelt emotions while nicely complementing the smooth production, acoustic notes, and modern tones. According to Calm, the alternative hip-hop track is meant to be relatable to a wide range of listeners while still representing his personal experiences. In other words, “Not That Deep” is certainly a well-blended mix of Calm’s personal passions and atmospheric sounds.
