San Antonio, Texas-native, Ronnie Lott, is a rapper, songwriter, and producer currently based in New York City. His songs combine elements of hip-hop and R&B, which usually result in concoctions that will remind you of the kind of music that the Drakes, The Weeknds, and the Big Seans of the world tend to make. Ronnie’s latest release (and first single of 2021) is the radio-ready “Best Friend,” a stylish and mesmerizing romantic gem.
“Best Friend” is all about love and longing in New York. Lott’s smooth vocals feel fresh and engaging as he delivers lines about a woman who deserves more than what’s she’s getting from her current lover. While there’s definitely a sense to “Best Friend” that’s reminiscent of Drake’s music, Lott’s overall style is clearly unique and all his own.
